Foodly
Foodly is a cutting-edge mobile food delivery application where minimalist design and strategic UX ensure the fastest possible journey from selecting a dish to the first bite.
Role & Objective
My role in the Foodly project was to design a comprehensive user interface (UI) from the ground up. The primary challenge was to create a design that wouldn't distract the user but rather serve as an invisible guide in the process of satisfying their hunger.
The design is rooted in the "interface-as-a-service" principle. I applied a modern UI approach to ensure every element is functional, shifting the focus entirely to the food itself, allowing users to make intuitive decisions instantly.
The app covers all consumption scenarios: traditional delivery, takeout, and in-restaurant ordering. Each mode features a tailored user journey, providing flexibility and convenience regardless of the user's location.
Smart Navigation & Upselling
To enhance usability, I implemented a clear system of categories and filters. This allows users to find specific dishes instantly, while integrated upsell modules within the product screens make it easy to customize orders with additional options or ingredients.
The UX strategy is built on minimizing the number of steps to checkout. We optimized the flow so users can order their favorite meals in seconds, avoiding unnecessary transitions or complex configurations.
Significant attention was paid to the waiting phase, featuring real-time courier tracking. Upon delivery, users can easily provide feedback by separately rating the restaurant and the courier, ensuring a high standard of service.
Scalable Design System
To maintain product consistency, I built a dedicated design system based on the Tabler Icons library. This provides a clean and lightweight visual language, along with a component library that allows for rapid future scaling.
Micro-interactions & Living Interface
Beyond visual clarity, I placed a strong emphasis on micro-interactions. Seamless transitions, haptic feedback when adding items to the cart, and dynamic status updates bring the interface to life. These small details not only elevate the aesthetic appeal but also provide the user with a clear sense of responsiveness, ensuring they feel in total control at every step of the process.
